Time has just flown by...In creating this blog, we are taking a walk down memory lane, capturing Leila's first days. Looking back on this picture, we can't believe how tiny she is, and how much she has changed already. This time in the early days of her life was so precious. So many emotions-pure excitement, wonder, awe and just a little bit of anxiety-hoping that we will know how to take care of this little bundle of joy. They are right in saying that instinct takes over (sure the books and classes help too), but so much of this experience is so natural that you just know what to do. Her days in the hospital were spent eating, sleeping, sleeping and sleeping. We could hardly keep her awake long enough to feed. I also think that is God's way of giving you some time to "figure it all out" during the sleeping hours. Constantly peering over and watching her sleep so peacefully in her cot was truly one of the most special moments in my life.
